Wayne Thomas Smith

Wayne Thomas Smith of Weirton, WV, died Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was 52. Wayne was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on August 17, 1968, to Thomas Leo and Delores Ruffington Smith. He graduated from Brashear High School in 1987. Wayne worked as a mechanic at Bayer Corporation before accepting employment as a mechanic with the Wal Mart Distribution Center in Wintersville, OH. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife. Peggy Freshwater Smith; his daughters, Kaitlyn and Kirstan Smith; his stepsons, Michael Tennant and Matthew Freshwater; his brothers, Bobby and Joe Smith; and his mother and father in law, Margaret and Fred Freshwater. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Wayne will be laid to rest at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
