William F. Hawken, 57, of Colliers, WV died Monday May 3, 2010, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born on June 11, 1952, in Steubenville, OH, Bill was the son of the late Charles and Eileen Barnhart Hawken. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Sue Kerr on August 26, 2000. Bill retired after 32 years of service from Weirton Steel, where he worked in the Boiler House. A caring husband, father and grandfather, Bill was very patriotic, and was especially proud of his son who serves in the United States Army. Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Wyatt Hawken; a son William �Brent� Hawken and his wife Jessica of Fort Hood, TX; brothers, Charles Hawken of Weirton, WV, and Larry Hawken of New Cumberland, WV; a sister, Margaret Pearson of New Cumberland, WV; three beloved grandchildren, Ceili, Brylie and Brent, Jr. aka Bubby. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday. Minister Larry Barkley will preside.

  3. My heart goes out to you all, I love you all so much. I will miss Bill and all his corky things I remember as a kid!! I remember me and Dad (Aunt Hank) and Bill and Brent went to the farm, squirrel hunting and it was a competition, who would get more squirrels, of course Brent and Bill did, and I was never allowed to go hunting again!! I made to much noise!! xoxox, love and prayers always!
