William J. "Robbie" Robinson, 73, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his home. Born September 15, 1937 in Steubenville, OH, he was a son of the late Samuel A. Robinson and Carolyn J. Tolan Robinson Roush. He was also preceded in death by his brother Samuel. With 38 years of service, Robbie retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a Potman Helper on the Number 5 Line. Prior to his employment with the mill, he served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy of his life. Robbie was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Over-The-Hill Golf Gang, Tri-State Marine Corp, and the WSX 25-Year Club. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife Emma Jean Blasczak Robinson of Weirton, whom he married January 28, 1963; his son, Timothy Robinson and his wife Susan of Manassas, VA; his daughter, Sandra J. Pierce and her husband Russell of Weirton; grandchildren Vanessa Robinson, Shawn Minard, Michael and Emily Thermes and brother Robert Roush and his wife Juanita of Toronto, OH. Friends will be received Friday morning 8:30 AM until 10: 00 AM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Interment will be private. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church 229 California Avenue Weirton, WV 26062.   16. Sandra and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. When I met your dad 2 years ago when i came to see you in the hospital your dad treated me like he knew me all my life. Your parents welcomed me into there home. Your father took me to so hotspots in WV gave me the first taste of the wonderful pizza. He talked about your trips out on Saturday mornings and how he loved them. You and your brother will carry on the wonderful legacy. Your a great friend. I wish i could be there with you through your difficult time but i am only a phone call away.
