Wilma Tournay Carnahan, 94, of Weirton, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012. Born March 2, 1918 in McDonald Pa, she was a daughter of the late Gustave and Nancy Tournay. Wilma was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Carnahan; brothers, Norman, George, Charles, Gustave, Howard, and Wayne; a sister, Naomi; and many faithful pets. Wilma graduated from McDonald High School and worked as a manifest clerk at Weirton Steel Company for many years. She belonged to the Double Decker Card Club, was primus of the Graduate Sorority, belonged to the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Camp Fire Girls Group Leader, a homeroom mother, President of the Marland Heights PTA, and President of the Hancock-Brooke Mental Health Society. Wilma's hobbies included embroidery, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and other crafts. She loved yard work and sitting on her front porch. She was baptized at Iron's Memorial French United Presbyterian Church in McDonald, PA, and attended the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church in Weirton. Wilma is survived by her loving daughter and caretaker, Kimberly Carnahan of Weirton; her son, Craig Carnahan of Arizona; grandson, Scott Carnahan of Arizona; her faithful brother, Daniel Tournay, Sr. and his wife Nancy of Weirton; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; and her three cats, Rory, Aubrey, and Tristan. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, with Reverend William C. Stout officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Donations in Wilma's memory may be made to the Hancock County Senior Services, PO Box 1284, New Cumberland, WV 26047-1284: attention Transportation Department Van Fund.
