Wm. Dean Childers, Sr.

Wm. Dean Childers, Sr., 60, of Weirton, WV died Saturday, December 10, 2005, at the Weirton Medical Center. Dean was born on August 16, 1945, in Saint Mary’s, WV, the son of the late Clyde and Edith Reed Childers. He was also preceded in death by his brother Charles and his sister Mary Waldeck. Dean retired from the Ohio Carpenters Local 186 in Steubenville, OH. He enjoyed buying old cars and fixing them, and he especially loved to fix things for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Dolly Leasure Childers, whom he married on June 27, 1969; his two sons, Wm. Dean and Dana Childers, Jr. of Weirton, WV, Kevin Robert and Darcie Childers of Mingo Jct, OH; his daughter Deana and Scott Cline of Brilliant, OH; his two brothers, Clarence and Bobbie of New Cumberland, Orlando and Cheryl of Virginia; his two sisters, Vivian and Ray Wenzowski of Weirton, WV, Hazel and Ted Stewart of Gaithersburg, MD; his five grandchildren, Wm. Dean, III, Shay, Noah, Faith Childers and Nathan Cline. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM Wednesday at the New Life Worship Center, 308 Penco Road, Weirton. Pastor Bob Mazeroski will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Worship Center, 308 Penco Road, Weirton, WV 26062.
