Arch M. Talbert, 65, of Weirton died, at his home, Sunday September 2, 2018, as a result of a house fire. The same fire also claimed the life of his only daughter, Melissa Talbert. Arch was born on February 7, 1953, in Sutton WV to the late Charles and Irene Hoover Talbert. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Shirley Stillwagoner Talbert, on July 8, 2017. Arch worked for over 32 years in facility maintenance with Weirton Medical Center. A dedicated employee, Arch often could be found walking to and from the medical center. His dedication to helping others did not end at work as Arch lovingly cared for his wife, Shirley, who had lifelong cerebral palsy. Friendly and kind, Archie will be best remembered for his positive attitude, no matter what life’s challenges he faced. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ. Arch will be remembered with love by his young granddaughter, Terra Everhart; his sisters, Shirley Clarke of Decatur, AL, Phyllis, Talbert of Gary, WV, and Martha (Bill) Nesselrotte of Charleston, WV;his foster, brother his brothers and sisters in law, Deborah Suttles (Jim) of Toronto, OH; Jim Stillwagoner (Darlene) of Berea, KY, Dennis (Shari) of Weirton and Ronald Stillwagoner (Sharon) of Toronto; nieces, nephews and many of friends he made along his way. Visitation for Arch and his daughter Melissa will be 4-7 PM Saturday, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Funeral services will be celebrated at 7 PM Saturday. Knowing all three of you for many many years this makes this even sadder! Heck, I remember when Melissa was just born how excited you two were.. May you rest in peace. Sad those here lost you but I can picture how excited Shirley was to see you!

I had the pleasure of knowing Shirley ,Melissa Archie as we visited them and Melissa spent time w my girls Ashley and Heather as they was growing up.We knew the family from church .When the girls became adults anytime I saw Archie in the store or the hospital the first thing he ask was how are the girls and tom and Tom you doing .He couldn’t believe heather was now a mom her self . He loved his family and God. Thank you so much for your kindness and caring words you always gave to our family. Yes you are an angel and a very good Christian role model for all lives you touched.
