joseph cutshall

Joseph Frank Cutshall passed away peacefully at his home on Brightway Street in Weirton on Sunday, June 14, 2026. He was eighty-one years old.

He was born on June 2, 1945, the only son of John Elmer and Lucy DiBerardino Cutshall.

A graduate of Catholic Central High School in Steubenville, class of 1963, Joe’s remarkable journey took him through a wonderful marriage to Lynn Parkins, whom he wed on July 31, 1965.

Joe dedicated 33 years of his life to Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked in the Slab Yard. An avid supporter of youth sports, he left a lasting impact through over twenty years of coaching Wintersville youth baseball. His commitment to nurturing young talent reflected the generous spirit that defined him.

Beyond his professional life, Joe served as a state track official for Ohio, bringing his love for athletics and fair play to countless events. Roman Catholic by faith, Joe attended Blessed Sacrament Church while in the Steubenville area, where he found solace and strength in his faith.

Joe’s zest for life was evident in the little things; the camaraderie he shared with his friends and the ability to showcase his cherished Lionel Train Collection, which filled the entire rec room of their home.

Lynn and Joe owned Monogram Sports in Wintersville for 23 years, strengthening their connection with the community they cherished. After retiring, they settled in the Eagle Point Golf Community in Bluffton, South Carolina, where Joe looked forward to his regular 7:00 am tee time with friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Agnes Newman.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Lynn, with whom he shared sixty-plus years of marriage, sons Paul (Tammy) Cutshall of Steubenville and Brian Cutshall of Mingo Junction, OH, and grandchildren Alexis and Nathan Cutshall.

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Fr. Binu Sebastian will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation at Parkinson.org.

Joe’s family would like to thank Valley Hospice and Dr. Christopher Cowher for the excellent care they provided during his illness.

Candle Selection 3Lynn & family, Keeping you in our thoughts & prayers at this difficult time. May Joe rest in peace 🙏🏻. Sincerely, Mike & Marlene Runkel

  3. Sincere sympathy to the entire Cutshaw family for your loss! Joe was my neighbor in Crestview for several years though I never knew him well as both busy with family. However, my father Chuck Woodward worked with Joe at Wheeling Pitt Steel but their true competitive nature came out on the basketball court playing for a men’s league with several other tall buddies now long gone.
