Alice (Boo) Plesich, formerly of Weirton, passed away on March 24, 2011 with her family nearby in the serenity of the HPH Hospice Hernando Care Center in Brooksville, FL. She is survived by her husband John, daughter Renee Payne and son-in-law Larry Mullens, sons Tom of Raleigh, NC, and Nick of Hong Kong, China, and four grandchildren Christopher, John Alicia and Jason. Alice was preceded in death by her mother and father Alice and Nicholas C. Costadi and sister Vivian Cwiczynski. Alice was a graduate of Weirton High School, class of 1952, where she proudly marched in the band as a majorette. She had an appreciation for the arts and played the clarinet. She lovingly raised three children and enjoyed life as a homemaker. Other interests included baking and cooking as well as her love for all animals, especially the four-legged kind Scruffy and Buffy; her apple pies and cabbage rolls were second to none. Alice had a green thumb and delighted in outdoor gardening and tending to her house plants and flowers of all kinds. She was especially fond of growing and pampering her African Violets and Orchids. Friends will be received Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 9 until the 10am memorial service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Donations in Alice's memory may be made to the HPH Hospice Hernando Care Center, 12242 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613; Tel: 352-544-1181.

  4. Renee and Families, I read of your mother’s passing and was saddened at your loss. My father passed away in 2001 and my mother lives with us at the age of 83. I have been waiting for your final plans as I want to see you at the funeral home when you come to Weirton. I will be out of town this weekend and will check the web-site on Monday.
