Alice E. "Baba" Tokash, 89, of Weirton, WV, died Saturday January 31, 2009 at the D & D Quality Care in Weirton. Alice was born on August 15, 1919 in Strawn, TX, a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph D. Tokash; her two sisters, Arlene Fiedorczyk, and Stella Kaczmarek; and her son in law Joseph Maslowski. Alice retired after 29 years of service from the Weirton General Hospital and the Weirton Medical Center, where she was the Manager of the Laundry Department. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Church and a member of the Christian Mothers and the Rosary Society. Alice is survived by her two sons, Joseph Tokash and his wife Norma, Paul Tokash and his wife Donna; her two daughters, Elizabeth "Doll" Maslowski, Charlotte Vargo and her husband George all of Weirton; her eight grandchildren, Tawny and J.J. Maslowski, PJ Tokash and his wife Jennifer, Mary Kay and Danny Tokash, Katie Hiltunen and her husband David, Alicia Vargo, Ashley Birkheimer and her husband Brad; her five great grandchildren, Tessie, Zak, Eli, Christopher and Joshua. Visitation will be Monday 9 AM until 10:30 AM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Rev. Fr. Kent Durig will preside. Knowing her and then teaching her granddaughters who absolutely adored her makes me so sad for all of you that will miss her a great deal. Even though Bab was sick for the last few years, I will always remember the smart, quirky lady who was my friend and another mother.
