Andrew McCay Sr.

Andrew McCay, Sr., 61, of Burgettstown, PA, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born August 6, 1953 in McKeesport, PA, the son of Doris Lynn McCay of Portage, IN and the late Andrew McCay. Andy attended Burgettstown High School and Fort Cherry High School where he graduated from in 1973. He retired from PI&I, formerly Weir-Cove Moving and Storage, where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 92. Andy was a Christian by faith who loved being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to oldies music, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and taking trips to the mountains in Tionesta, PA. He is survived by his wife Karen Hans McCay of Burgettstown, whom he married on May 14, 1977; mother Doris Lynn McCay, sons Andrew McCay, Jr., of Weston, WV and Daniel (Jada) McCay of Weirton, daughter Kristy (Todd) Spencer of New Cumberland, WV; sister Dorothy Ripple of Portage, IN; grandchildren Lucie Rai and Colt Ryan McCay as well as nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews in Indiana. Andy will be sadly missed by his canine best friend Misty Blue and feline best friend Toby. He is sadly missed and loved by his family. Until we meet again. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where Funeral Services will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Friday. Reverend Mark Reed will officiate. Interment will follow at Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA. Andy's family would like to thank all of those who loved, cared for and supported him and his family throughout this difficult long journey.
