
Andrew Rich Palo

Andrew "Rich" R. Palo, 73 of Weirton, passed away March 6, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care North in Steubenville, OH. He was born December 1, 1936 in Ecorse, MI, the son of the late Andrew and Helen Pigan Palo Kelly. His son Vincent P. Palo also preceded him in death.
Rich retired from the Weirton Steel Company with 35 years of service as a machinist. Rich was a member of the 25 year club of WSX, the Knights of Columbus, a charter member of the Tri State Marine Corps club and Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rich was past member of the Madonna High School Athletic board and Past President of the Sacred Heart of Mary School Athletic Board. He served his country for 8 year in the US Marine Corps.
Rich is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Miller and her husband Robert and Lisa Palo all of Weirton; brother Robert Kelly and his companion Gretchen Costantini of Steubenville, OH; sister Mary Ann Veselica and her husband John of Valparaiso, IND; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8PM, Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Wednesday, 10:00AM at Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton, WV.
Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, with Military graveside service conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.

To the Palo Family, it is with a saddened heart that I write this condolence. Rich and I go back to our childhood on Weir Ave. He was, and always will be my good friend. He will be in my thoughts and prayers as will all of his family. God be with you at this sad time.
charlie and Jennie Dobrin their childred Martin, Timmy, Liz and Marion lived 2 houses away when Rich and his family lived on Beacon Drive many years ago. My mother is living at country club manor in steubenville. my dad has passed 13 years. My dad and Mr. Palo we very good friends in those years. As a matter of fact Mr. Palo drove my oldest brother do 63 to Pittsburg when he joined the coast card. Martin was 17 years old then. I remember your family well. My mother and I wanted to share some memories for and with him. I pray he is in god’s hands and my dad and him someday will have some of my dad’s homemade wine. Mary Ann and Lisa, You have my sympathy on the passing of your father. I remember back when he called bingo for SHM. I won a coverall jackpot on one of the nights he called. Rich was my Godfather. Although I had not seen him for some time, my father, Lary W. Arnett was share stories with me about Rich. He was a character with a great sense of humor and he was and will always be a big part of my childhood memories. I can still see those black and white pictures from the 60s of my Mom and Dad and their very good friends. Rich was one of those friends and I’m honored that he was my Godfather. Lary j.
