Andrew Smerek

Andrew Smerek,76, of Weirton passed away on October 12, 2000 at Trinity Health Systems West, in Steubenville, OH. Andrew was born on September 24, 1924 in Weirton, WV the son of the late George and Mary Bubon Smerek. Andrew retired from the Weirton Steel Tin Mill Department where he worked as a stocker in the warehouse for 35 years. Andrew served his country in WWII 11th Armored Division of the United States Army. Andrew was a member of Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Weirton. He was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year club the Weirton Moose Lodge #688, the 11th Armored Division Association Incorporated and the Pleasant Valley Country Club. He is survived by his brother, George Smerek, of Weirton, his sister, Mrs. George (Marge)Dressel, of Weirton, a neice, Mrs. Dennis (Peggy) Dobrick of Wintersville, 2 nephews Jerry Dressel of Long Island, NY and Bucky George Dressel of Weirton.
