ann olenick
Ann Theresa Olenick, 90, of Weirton, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at her daughter's home in Valencia, PA. Born October 2, 1918 in Slovan, PA, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Rabizant Ference. She was also preceded in death by her husband Andrew Olenick on May 18, 1992, brothers Joseph, Stanley and Edward Ference and sisters Verna Kolavic, Stella Popkie and Jane Hruschak. Prior to her marriage, Ann worked for Weirton Steel in the Strip Steel offices. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Mrs. Olenick enjoyed crafting, oil painting, and decorating. Ann is survived by her daughters Marjorie Deitzel and her husband Leon of Valencia, PA and Joyce A. Olenick, and her husband Richard Garcia of Tacoma, WA and granddaughter Mollie Fagan of San Francisco, CA. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Kent Durig will preside. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 200 Preston Avenue, Weirton, WV 26062.
