Anna DeFlaviis

Anna DeFlaviis, 83, of Weirton, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born October 17, 1923 in Dennison, Ohio, where she resided for 4 years. Anna then returned to Italy where she was raised. In the early 50’s Anna returned to the U.S. with her husband and they settled in Weirton, WV. Anna was the daughter of the late Eusebio and Santa Lupi. Anna was also preceded in death by her husband Dino on December 2, 1993 and her step mother, Lucia Lupi. Anna was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Anna’s survivors include her sons Ralph and Mary Ann DeFlaviis of Durham, N.C., and Pio DeFlaviis of Beckley, WV; daughter Toni DeFlaviis of Weirton and sisters Mary Colangeli and her husband Jack of Weirton, Rosina Colangeli and Carmella Cerasi both of Gulianova Italy, grandchildren Barbara Ann and Vincent Reid of Durham, N.C, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in Italy and the U.S; and her dedicated caregiver Sandra Schreiner. The family will receive friends Friday, March 2, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10AM Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Reverend Father Tony Thurston will officiate. Entombment will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
