Anna Sherasky Whitehead (Restanio),96, of Weirton passed away Sunday October 5th,2025.
Ann was born April 21, 1929, daughter to the late John and Stella Sheraskey-Niedzialkia-Matula of Slovan PA.
Ann was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and was a member of the Christian Mothers.
In 1966, she became the secretary at Madonna High School for six years, and at the age of 52 went back to college for her accounting degree. Ann was told at the time by her professor “You’re wasting your time because no one will want to hire someone at your age.” Well, anyone that really knew Ann knew she was one of the best accountants in Weirton.
She worked for and managed the office of James M Riley in Weirton, was employed for many years by Guida Enterprises Inc., worked for the Holiday Inn and Best Western, and did personal taxes as well. She did not retire until the age of 89!
Ann was preceded in death by her first husband Jeff Whitehead of 50 years; her second husband Tom Restanio of Joffre, PA; her daughter, Frances Blinco of St. Albans WV; her siblings were Alma Metrovich, John, Frank and Joe Sheraskey; John and George Niedzialkia from Burgettstown, PA.
Surviving members of her family are Glenna Whitehead (Rich Lawton); Glenna’s son, Drew his wife Kasey and daughter Harper Hindman; Frances’ four girls and husbands, Kristin and Chris Deeley, Erica Giacomi, Keri and Eric Thomas and Erin and Jonathan Little ;and seven great- grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by Restanio families of PA, Patricia (late John) Findling, Thomas (Lisa) Restanio, Loretta (Bud) Cecchini, Joe (Misty) Restanio, Ron (Elena) Restanio; Dan (Danette) Restanio, Gary (Lori) Restanio, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10 AM at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Weirton.
Rev. Father Dennis R. Schuelkens will preside.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee.
Anne’s daughter would like to express her most sincere gratitude to Dr. John, Rhonda Quatrocchi of Serra Manor, the administration nurses and staff for all their love patience and care they gave her mom.
Ann was extremely feisty when she first moved into assisted living, they had their hands full but she learned to love each and every one of them dearly.

Dear Glenna and Family, So very sorry to read that Anne has passed away! She was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed. I’ll never forget how she helped me when I was GM at the Holiday Inn Weirton. I will let the Linchris Family know of her passing because they also thought so much of Anne. May she Rest In Peace!

Glenna and family, your mom was a nice lady. Her eyes always lit up when we met. I will never forget the assembly in the gym when Father Bell asked her to come along, and he announced “happy Mrs Whitehead Day!” . Everyone applauded. She was so surprised!
Glenna and family, so sorry for your loss. I was introduced to your mother by my sister Patty. She was always very pleasant, and was always happy to see Patty. I am going to try to attend the funeral.

So sorry Glenna and Rich. She lived an inspiring busy life that left a unforgetable memory to the people she met. Im so glad we became neighbors once again to rekindle some great memories. Ray and I will miss her along with our grandaughter Lexi who loved to tend to her yard for her.
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was such an example of living life to the fullest and having a great sense of humor. We know where you got it.
