Annabett Latronica

Annabett D’Amico Latronica of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the WVU-Weirton Medical Center. Born on March 21, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, she was a daughter of Raymond and Daisy Drigers D’Amico.

Annabett dedicated many years of her life to serving her community as a Food Preparer at McDonald’s Restaurant. Her joyful spirit brought light to those around her, and she will be dearly missed.Annabett enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, finding happiness in indulging in milk, butterscotch candy, and fudge bars.

She was a devoted fan of classic television, never missing reruns of beloved shows like “Murder, She Wrote,” “Columbo,” and “The Love Boat.” Her love for oldies, 80s pop, and soft rock filled her home with warmth and nostalgia.

In addition to her parents, Annabett was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Latronica, and her sons, Perry and Scott Root.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clifford Root of Moodus, Connecticut, daughters Annabett (Nick) Loprete of Weirton, Lesley (Michael) Gibbs of Brooklyn, Connecticut, brothers Wallace and Darrell D’Amico, and sister Daisy (Edward) Goodrich, and grandchildren. Elizabeth, Rachel, Ricky, Jr., Jeremiah, Alycia, Zachary, Aubrey, Izach, James, Leora, Blake, Matthew, and Aubrey and six great-grandchildren.

Annabett’s wish for cremation will be honored.

She will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.
