Anne Katherine Micklos of Weirton, WV passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022. She was 91.
Anne was born in Weirton, WV on February 21, 1931 one of two children born to Wesley John ”Jack” and Anna Budno O’Karma.
Anne graduated from Weir High School in the Class of 1949. After high school she was employed at Weirton Steel as a secretary. This is where she met John A. Micklos. They dated and eventually married on April 14, 1951.
John continued to work in the mill and Anne took care of their home, where she enjoyed volunteering her time and talents to many local organizations. She was very active in her daughter’s activities when they were at Saint Joseph and Madonna High Schools. Later in life she looked forward to getting her hair done once a week, being active in the Christian Mothers, AARP and she love to travel with the Four Seasons Seniors.
Most of all Anne will be remembered for her loving, caring, and generous nature and her good sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John on May 30, 2016, and her brother, Wesley “John” O’Karma on December 24, 2000.
She will be remembered with love by her two daughters, Eileen (Dr. Frank J.) Petrola, and Nancy (Dan) Ranck; her grandchildren, Lindsey (Thomas) Campbell, Danny (Laura) Ranck, Christopher (Jackie) Petrola, and Frank (Katie) Petrola; and her great grandchildren, Julia Campbell, Owen and Noah Ranck, Vittoria, Olivia and Santino “Sonny” Petrola.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Weirton.

Nancy and Eileen. OH MY GOD! I am so heartbroken over your loss. I am so deeply sorry. Lord only knows we have so many great memories – our 2 families, the old neighborhood, staying over night, eating lunches together…the old neighborhood was so great ‘back in the day’. We have so many memories don’t we? She’s with the rest of the family now and Ann: till we meet again, I so loved you and John!

Dear Nancy and Eileen, your mom was always a good sport with all the Madonna and Tec visits and allowing Nancy to drive a Ford Pinto! What a kind and wonderful lady who produced 2 beautiful daughters . My deepest condolences and I will pray a Divine Mercy.
Ann and John were such pleasant caring neighbors. We were neighbors for a long time on palomino drive and beacon drive. Also both were friends of my parents. Rest in peace…
