Anthony Joseph Fuscardo, Sr.
August 23, 1928 ~ August 18, 2008
Anthony Joseph Fuscardo, Sr., 79, of Weirton, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 23, 1928 in Follansbee, WV, he was the son of the late Frank Fuscardo and Mary (Cosenza) Fuscardo Smearman.
With 43 years of service, Anthony retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a dispatcher and truck driver in the Trucking Department. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Steubenville, OH where he served as an usher for 35 years. For over 30 years, he was a bingo caller at St. Peter's and St. Anthony's church. He also served as President of Theta Chi Alpha Fraternity and served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Fuscardo is survived by his wife Cecilia Lemsky Fuscardo of Weirton, whom he married in 1949; son Anthony Joseph "Tony" Fuscardo, Jr. and his wife Toni; daughters Roseann (Fuscardo) and her husband Steven Llewellyn and Vickie Chappell all of Steubenville, OH; brothers Sundo, Nick and Ralph Fuscardo, Sr. of Weirton and Frank Fuscardo of Huntington, WV; sister Florence Cassella of Weirton; four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30AM Friday, August 22, 2008 at St. Peter's Church in Steubenville. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton, where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad and Weirton Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church, 425 North 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952.

dearest Tully…….. I was so saddened to hear of Tony’s passing. He was bigger than life and so fantastic. He was so much fun to work with at bingo down at St. Peters. Sorry for your loss your dad will be saddly missed. My brothers, sister and I will never forget your dad. We had alot of great memories on Beverly Ave and your dad loved to tease each and every kid equally. I was so sorry to hear about uncle Tony. I lost touch with him when I moved away years ago but will never forget him. He was a wonderful godfather and will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with aunt Toolie and family.

This special star always makes you feel special embracing you in a loving acceptence and greets you with a smile that showers a warmth that seems to rain from heaven. You must be proud to have called him Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle and friend. My prayers will be with you all during this time. Sadly he will be missed by all. Even though my heart grieves with you, I can not help but to think what an incredible life he lived and his legacy continues in you all so somehow a part of him is always with us living on thru you. love you much
Dear Vickie, Your Dad was like a big brother to me at work. He helped me through many difficult situations. I had the utmost admiration and respect for him and he will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. Sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral home. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
