Anthony Joseph Gallo, 92, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born October 3, 1921 in Clarksburg, WV, he was a son of the late Francesco and Francesca (Sarocca) Gallo. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Rose Gallo on October 18, 2011; brothers John and Bill Gallo and sisters Mary Tarowsky, Annie Carey and Lena Cosenza. Mr. Gallo retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a foreman in the Brick and Mason Department. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 10, and VFW 2617. He was a life time member of the Weirton Moose Lodge 688. Anthony served in the United States Army during World War II. Anthony is survived by his daughters Jeani (Robbie) Robinson; Judie (Ted) Troia and Cathy (Bill "Bub") Miller all of Weirton; grandchildren Jason (Karen) Robinson, Beth (Jason) McCarthy, Trajaen Troia, Drake Miller, Tate Troia and Garin Miller; great-grandchildren Courtney, McKenzie, Abigail and Jason Robinson, Alayna, Gabriella and Luciana McCarthy and sisters Rose Henry and Josephine Yarosz. Visitation will be held Friday from 11am until the 1pm funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. The Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, 3705 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-2583.

  6. Dear Jeani and Family….This is Joanna Viviano. Al, I and my Mom, Rose Cirincioni, are so sorry with your loss of your Dad. He was such a fine gentleman. Two years ago we were in Pittsburgh for a family picnic being held in Ohio. On the way to the picnic we stopped and visited your Dad at his house in Weirton. My Mom was also with us. Your Dad was so happy to see us. He showed us all around his house and of course all the family pictures. We talked about the good ol’ days and laughed quite a bit with him. We are so happy we made that visit with your Dad. He was a special person. Again, accept our deepest sympathies, I am sure he is blessing you and your family from heaven above.
