Anthony "Rick" Buracchio, Sr., 58, of Weirton, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. Born August 8, 1952 in Steubenville, he was a son of Dorothy P. Roupe Buracchio of Weirton and the late Joseph A. Buracchio who passed away June 14, 1999. After 27 years of service at Weirton Steel where he worked in the Tin Mill and outside sales department, he then served as General Manager for A.M.F. in Irving, TX and Mt. Lebanon Lanes in Mt. Lebanon, PA. After returning to Weirton, Rick worked for the West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles in the Weirton office. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, was an Eagle Scout recipient of the Boy Scouts of America and was an avid bowler who was involved in the Youth Bowling League and was formerly active with the Weirton Jaycees. In addition to his mother, Mr. Buracchio is survived by his wife Sharon Ensell Buracchio of Weirton, whom he married December 26, 1998; sons Anthony "Rick" Buracchio, Jr. of Parkersburg, WV, Joshua Buracchio and his wife Gina of Steubenville and Aaron Buracchio and his fianc Amanda Swiger of Weirton; step daughters Nicole Swanson and her husband Teddy of Clarksville, TN and Bobbie Jo Snider of Kernersville, NC; brothers James Buracchio and his wife Erica of New Manchester, WV and John Buracchio and his wife Alana of Morgantown, WV; sister Debra Taylor and her husband Carl of Weirton; grandchildren, Anthony III, Ashley, Geno, Mia, Hunter, Hayden, Brittany, Isabella and Brandtley and his special four-legged companion Eli. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-7PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of Rick's family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.

  2. I was sorry to hear of Rick’s passing. I spoke to him several times at the DMV and most recently at Pet-Agree Grooming where he brought his dog. He loved a good conversation. He will be sadly missed by many people. Rick was also a Weir High 1970 classmate of mine. Your family is in our prayers.

  5. There are not enough words to describe how Rick has touched my life over the last 14 years. He was a wonderful father in law and grandfather. I truly hope that he has found peace. Tony said that maybe he is his guardian angel now and watching out for him from Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and we love you very much

He was a lot of fun to work with and I know he loved his Family more that anything. He was so proud of his boys back then.   10. Ricky & I attended St.Paul’s School together. Are Mothers had a close bond with friendship and termites. Every memorial day they would plan a picnic at marland hgts pool. And each year it would rain. My Uncle Sam Monte was married to his Aunt Yula. May your memories carry you threw this rough time.

He never let anything get him down for long. He was fun to be around, and never met a stranger. May God give you peace with his passing. I will keep you all in my prayers.

We always knew him as Little Ricky at the Brookline Playground, and how he was a little to young to play with us in are Pee Gee Ball Games, Oh how I wish we could back in time time to those good old days we have it so nice. I remember him as a smart, funny guy who would do his all for you in a pinch. It seems like others have great memories of the rest of his life.
