Barbara Avis Hargest, 65, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on August 26, 1949 in Weirton, a daughter of the late John H. and Avis F. (Fleming) Howell. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers Gary Swiger, Larry "Tub" Swiger and John Howell. Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Weir High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening; crossword and jig saw puzzles and bird watching. Barbara is survived by her husband David M. Hargest of Weirton, son Jonathan Diley of Illinios, daughters Barbara (Lee) Alleman of New Cumberland and Brandi Diley of Weirton, step-sons David Hargest of Weirton and Ian Hargest of Nevada, step-daughter Vivian Ferguson of Weirton, grandchildren Caitlin and Connor Hargest, step-grandchildren Jessica Hargest, Jaimie and Heather Ferguson and Robert and Jordon Alleman, step- great-grandson Jaxson Alleman and sister Shirley (William) Sponaugle as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Funeral Services will be held immediately following visitation at 8:00 PM Dr. Rev.
