Barbara Jane Powell, 60, of Burgettstown, PA, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at her home. Born March 13, 1952 in Kittanning, PA, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Betty Forringer Brice. She was also preceded in death by her brothers David and Randy Brice. Mrs. Powell was a dedicated and devoted homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ. Barbara loved cooking for her family, gardening and painting. She is survived by her husband Carl F. Powell of Burgettstown, son Christopher (Jamie) Powell; daughter April Dawn Powell (Clinton) Simms all of Colliers, WV; brother Leslie (Betty Anne) Brice of Ford City, PA; sister Betty Joe (Dave) Mantuscin of Leechburg, PA; grandsons Hunter and Ryder Simms and Austin Powell; granddaughter Taylor Powell; sister-in-law Darlene Corwin and brother-in-law Larry Powell. Visitation will be held Monday from 1-5PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where funeral services will follow at 5PM with Pete Cole officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the Powell family.

  11. To Carl, Chris & April, I just talked to April this morning after my brother, Mike, had given me the news. I wished I could have been there today. You guys were a second family to me and have given me some of the best memories of my life. I have moved away to Maryville, TN, but it is times like these I wished I was still home.
