beatrice zubaidi

Beatrice Delcia Zubaidi, of Weirton, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at Wheeling Hospital following an extended illness. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Weirton on June 7, 1943, daughter to Wilbur Burt and Cora Gill Burt Steen.

Beatrice, a natural caregiver, showed her love to all, caring for and administering her motherly ways to so many people throughout her life. She was, at various points, a waitress, SAHM, team mother, cook and caregiver to the elderly.

Her family expressed that she was one of the kindest and most gracious individuals anyone could have ever met. She will be remembered as a kind compassionate woman, doing God’s work on earth. Her ability to touch the heart and soul of any individual she met truly will be her legacy.

Beatrice had an affinity for birds, she had birds of all types and sizes. Her pride and joy was Ali, a Scarlet Macaw, who spent many years keeping Bea company and terrorizing anyone who came between them. She also had a green thumb, tending to numerous healthy and vibrant plants around the house.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded by her son Omar in June of 1963 and husband Ali in March of 1994.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Esther (Don) Blake of Aiken, South Carolina, sons Saleh Zubaidi of Pittsburgh, PA. and Ben Zubaidi of Weirton, grandson Bradley Blake, and sister Shirley Smith of Texas.

Friends may visit with her family at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 2 pm until the time of her 4 pm memorial service.

Beatrice’s family would like to thank the caring staff of Weirton Geriatric and the nurses of Weirton Medical Center for the genuine care she received.
