Benjamin Rhome Wade

Benjamin Rhome Wade, 75, of Weirton, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020, at his home. He was born November 3, 1944, in Burton, WV, a son of the late Lindsay Spencer and Nancy Ellen Curry Wade. He was also preceded in death by his brother Lindsay Wade. Benjamin retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a scarfer. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Besides enjoying all Pittsburgh sports, Ben loved watching boxing, UFC and gardening. His eldest son Benjamin II said, “He wasn’t real mechanical, but he could sure garden!” Benjamin will be remembered with love by his wife, Linda Kay Greathouse Wade, whom he married June 1, 1963; sons Benjamin II, Michael, Galen (Tambi) and Levi Wade; daughter Kristal Sunshine (Harold) Gentile; sisters Kay Lowther and Susie Decker; grandchildren Benjamin R. Wade III (Katie), Tiffini (Marcus) Turner, Nicholas Wade, Justus and Jeremy Gentile, Remy Beckett, Beckah, Christopher, Rachel, Samuel, Elizabeth, Paul, and Bruce Mazar, and Chantelle, Barndon and Breanna Brumfield; and great-grandchildren Damarr and Janai Turner, and Isaiah Kelly. Private visitation and services were held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, on Tuesday. Mr. Wade’s service was officiated by Pastor John Westling.
