Benny L. DeFelice, 81, of Weirton passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Born in Weirton, WV, on November 18, 1938, Benny was the second born child of Gavino and Catherine Bonnizzio DeFelice. He grew up in Weirton, WV, and graduated from Weir High School in 1956. A hard worker often holding multiple jobs at once, Benny’s main job was at Weir Cove Moving and Storage as a dispatcher. He also served in the United States Army Reserve. A good-looking great dancer, Benny met Violet Ann Vazquez at a dance. They dated three years and were married on June 15, 1963. In their 57 years of marriage, they were blessed with three sons and five grandchildren. In his free time, Benny enjoyed golfing with his Knights of Columbus friends, making stained glass, and vacationing in the Caribbean. His favorite island was Saint Martin. Benny was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, where he was the financial secretary. In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by his brother Joseph. He will be remembered with love by his wife, Violet Ann Vazquez DeFelice, sons, Benedict Joseph “B.J.” (Betty), Todd Michael (Cindy) and Brendan Lee DeFelice; his sister, Vivian Cochran (Jon); and his grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Joseph, Isabella, and Cristiano DeFelice. Due to the pandemic, private family visitation will be held at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at Saint Joseph the Worker Church.
