bernard ticich
Bernard Andrew Ticich, 71, of Weirton, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at his home. He was born March 15, 1932, in Weirton, the son of Mildred (Kosonovich) Ticich of Weirton and the late Bernard Ticich. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (Vahalik) Ticich, and an infant son, Bernard Ticich. Before his retirement, Bernard taught in the public school systems in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and West Virginia and was Catholic by faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was also a standout athlete and coach. In addition to his mother, Bernard's survivors include his sons, Frank E. (Beverly) Ticich of Follansbee, WV, and Joseph B. (Wendy) Ticich of Wheeling, WV; his brother, Eugene J. Ticich of Bethesda, MD; his sister, Wilma (Robert) Watz of Milford, PA; and three grandchildren, Rachel, Erin, and Nicole. Friends will be received 7-9 PM Friday, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00AM Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton with Monsignor Patrick Fryer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
