Betty Diane Cuprik of Weirton passed away at the Laurel’s in Steubenville, OH, on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was 87 years old. Betty was born in Morgantown, WV, on February 1, 1933, the firstborn child of Don and Betty Thorn Granato. Betty graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central. After graduating high school, she dated Joe Cuprik, who was a bus driver for Starvaggi Enterprises. Betty's father at the time owned the Weirton Bus Terminal. Betty and Joe were married in 1954. In their 55 years of marriage, Betty cared for their home, and Joseph worked for the City of Weirton as a Lieutenant on the Weirton Police Force. Betty and Joe enjoyed traveling. For the first twenty years, they loved to go to Canada fishing. In the later years, they looked forward to traveling and fishing at Cape May, N.J. Betty was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, and she also nourished her faith at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cuprik, on November 26, 2009; and her brother, Donald C. Granato, on April 14, 2005. Betty will be remembered with love by her son, David, and his wife, Debbie Cuprik. Due to the global pandemic, a memorial mass will be celebrated in the future when handshakes and hugs can be shared with family and friends. Date and time will be published at a later publication. Betty's family would like to express a special thank- you to all of the staff at the Laurel’s, and especially to nurse Amy for going above and beyond for caring for Betty. Nurse Amy was there when the family could not be by her side. Amy's love and care will never be forgotten. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com 304 748 3219

  2. So sorry for your loss David and Debbie. Your mom was like a sister to me when we were growing up and watched over me. She was a great cousin and a great friend to have. Although we lost touch, I thought of her often and was sad to hear of her passing. Diane Granato LAPosta

  3. Dear David and Debbie, I was so very sorry to hear of Babe’s passing. Both of your parents were such nice people. You have my deepest sympathy.
