Betty J. Blavos, 84, of Weirton died Saturday June 5, 2010. She was born September 27, 1925 in Newark, OH, the daughter of the late Lawrence Parkison and Dorothy Barcus Parkison Lowery. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Blavos on January 13, 1997. Betty retired from the D.A.V. Club after 23 years, as a waitress and bookkeeper. She enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with her beloved cats. She was a member of Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Steubenville, OH. She is survived by four sons, Anthony Kim Blavos (Carmen) of Weirton, WV, Patrick Kent Blavos (Debbie) of Colliers, WV, Lawrence Kevin Blavos (Robyn) of Biloxi, MS, and David Alan Blavos (Phyllis) of Parkersburg, WV, eight grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Visitation is Tuesday 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11 AM, at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Reverend Monsignor George Yontz will preside. Interment will follow at Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road New Cumberland, WV 26047.

  5. My sincere condolences to the family. I just found out about Betty. I thought about her often. over the years. I used to go to her house and cut her hair, and we would share things about our cats. I drive by her house once in a while and it looked different, so I thought something happened. 3 years later. So sorry, I didnt know or I would have come to pay my respects.
