Betty Jean Ralston, of Weirton, passed away at her residence on June 24th, 2024, at the age of 65.
She was born on December 17th, 1958, in Weirton, and was the daughter of Dwight Leroy and Eva (Ralich) Ralston.
Betty Jean was a member of the Weir High School graduating class of 1977.
Throughout her life, Betty found fulfillment in various roles. She worked as a housekeeper at Weirton Medical Center, a ward clerk at Weirton Geriatric, and a volunteer in their activities department.
One of the greatest joys that she encountered in life was operating a babysitting service from her home, where she cared for many children whom she loved as her own.
Betty’s adventurous spirit thrived when she was on her boat on Lake Erie, where she found peace and happiness.
She was known for her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering faith, which she shared generously with everyone around her.
Betty had a remarkable ability to connect with people, as she truly “never knew a stranger.”
In addition to her parents, Betty Jean was preceded in death by her brother Robert Lee Ralston.
Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Melissa Harris (Kenneth), whom she cherished as her best friend. As well as her brother, Thomas Leroy Ralston (Paula Kay), and sister Carolyn Ralston Delanta (Rusty), many nieces and nephews and fur babies; Simba, Sassy, and Taffy.
Friends may visit Betty Jean’s family on Thursday, June 27th, from 3 pm until the time of the 7 pm service at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton WV, 26062.
Pastor George Gerbo will officiate.
Betty Jean will be inurned at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Burgettstown.

To Carolyn and family so sorry for your loss. I still can’t believe my best friend is gone. She was more of a sister to me than just a friend. We had so many great times together growing up. Sorry I wasn’t able to come to the visitation. I remember Betty Jean when we were younger and our mothers were VFW Auxiliary members.
