betty ewaskey
Betty V. Ewaskey, 77, of Weirton died, on Friday September 4, 2015, at her home, with her family at her side. Born on February 6, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, Betty was a daughter of the late Harold Clark and Hilda Clark Prunty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wiliam Ewaskey. In addition to being a loving homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, Betty's career included working as a cashier and sales clerk for Oakland Station, Convenient on Pennsylvania Avenue, and the Weirton K Mart. In her free time she volunteered her time making little stuffed animals for the children who were scheduled for surgery at Trinity Health Systems in Steubenville. She enjoyed bowling for many years at both bowling alleys in town, and also traveled out of town to numerous bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Oakland United Presbyterian Church, and was an active member of the Hookstown Grange. Betty is survived by her two sons; Jeff (Laura) and Bill (Jennifer) Ewaskey all of Weirton, WV; her two half- brothers, Hal Clark of Euclid, OH and Bob Prunty of Wellsburg, WV ; her two sisters, Barbara Brown of Chesapeake, MD and Nancy Wolf of Severn, MD; her grandchildren, Shawn Ewaskey and his fianc Heather Morris, Tiffany Ewaskey, Chelsie Mercer and her fianc Casey Buchanan, Jacob Ewaskey and his girlfriend, Becky Stoffer, and Hailey Wyatt; her four great grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Ewaskey and Bella and Hunter Krynicki; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday 1PM until the time of her funeral services at 4 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor Randall Krebs will preside. Betty's family would like to thank Valley Hospice especially Jake and Melissa for all the love and care they provided for their mother and grandmother during her battle with heart disease.
