Beverly Cathleen "Cathy" Utt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Beverly Cathleen “Cathy” Utt. Cathy passed away at her residence under the watchful eyes of her children and Valley Hospice on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was sixty-nine years old.

Cathy was born on May 7, 1954, in Warren, OH. She was the daughter of Arthur and Bessie MacGregor Johnston.

Cathy graduated from Howland High School in Warren, OH. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family as her husband Vern had been previously employed at Weirton Steel. Cathy was very outgoing and made use of her time in and around her home. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her annual garden, crafting, crocheting, painting, and sewing.

Cathy adored her family and focused on being the best mother to her children or any other children who may have shown up at her door. She was loved by many and made many lasting relationships throughout her life; she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Vern.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories and love she gave are her children, son Vern Utt II, daughter-in-law Abigail Utt, daughter Crystal McCawley, grandchildren Jenna, Jordan, Baeleigh, David, and Nicholas Utt, and Scarlett McCawley, and two great-grandchildren, brother Thomas Johnston, Dear friend Michelle Martin and God Children Cory Martin and Amber Johnson.

Friends are invited to visit Cathy’s family on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, from 1 p.m. until the time of the 3 p.m. Family service.

Cathy will be buried next to her husband Vern in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
