Beverly Jean Zilich (Rushman), 61, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 2, 2016, surrounded by her beloved children and husband. A resident of New Cumberland, WV, she had a passion for cooking, animals, watching birds and spending time with her grandchildren. Beverly was retired from the Transportation Security Administration where she worked for ten years and was adored by her co-workers. Prior to that, she worked as a Response Officer for the Shippingport Nuclear Power Plant. Despite years of physically demanding work, friends and family knew her to have the kindest, most gentle heart. Some of her most cherished moments were at home, seated around the dinner table, after spending the afternoon cooking a homemade meal with her adult children. Her grandchildren knew her to be the keeper of every tasty and sugary snack imaginable and she loved her pets very much, often referring to them as her second children. She is survived by her husband, Robert Zilich, whom she married on April 17th, 1999. She is also survived by one daughter, Cherie Madeja, of Georgetown; son Gabriel (Ashley) Cofer of New Brighton; son Matthew (Jenna) Cofer of Weirton; mother Pearl Rushman of Delaware; brother David (Candace) Rushman of Delaware; and brother Michael Rushman of Washington. She leaves behind ten grandchildren including one on-the-way in October. Beverly is preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Rushman; a brother Duane Rushman; grandson Dakota Cofer, and son-in-law Timothy Madeja. Friends will be received Monday from 2-8 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Reverend Larry Barkley will officiate. Funeral Home: Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV US 26062

  5. I’m so sorry for your loss! Bev was such a sweet lady who was always there for you no matter how her day was going. I didn’t know her as long as some, but it seemed like I knew her forever because she was so easy to talk to and down to earth. I sadly didn’t hear about her passing until today or I would have been there to express my condolences. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss. My prayers for all of you, her family. She will always be remembered with love.
