Mrs. Bonnie G. Ross

Bonnie G. Ross, of New Cumberland, WV a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 7, 2024, at the Wellsburg Health Center at the age of 88.

Born with her twin sister on March 1, 1936 in Salem, WV, Bonnie was one of nine children born to Raymond and Martha (Davis) Cottrill.

Bonnie lived a life rich in love and laughter. She found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was playing BINGO, crafting, or baking her famous honey buns. Her family was her world, and she dedicated herself to their happiness and well-being. With her easygoing nature, infectious smile, and quick wit, she brought light and warmth to every family gathering.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ross, and her parents, Raymond Cottrill, Martha (Davis) Cottrill, and her siblings Jack Cottrill, Gene Cottrill, Henry Cottrill, Dorothy Chipps, Joanne Marvin, and her twin Donna Mae Cottrill.

Bonnie’s memory will forever be cherished by her children: Danny Ross, Timothy Ross, Jamie (Tracy) Ross, Susan (Clyde) Black, Linda (Jim) Teller, Pamela (Steven) Sponaugle; her brother William (Kelsey) Cottrill; her sister Susan Woodson, her eleven grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and her two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:30 AM.

She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton, WV.
