Bonnie Kaye Shingler

Bonnie Kaye Maple Shingler, age 81, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, following a brief illness at Brightwood Nursing Home.

Born on December 28, 1943, in Steubenville, Ohio, Bonnie was a cherished daughter of Lloyd and Vernice Maple.

A 1961 Steubenville Big Red High School graduate, Bonnie later pursued her passion for caregiving by earning an LPN associate’s degree from Eastern Gateway Community College.

Throughout her life, she embodied the spirit of a natural caregiver, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer comfort to those in need.

Beloved by her family, especially her grandchildren, Bonnie was known for her firey and quick-witted personality. She always walked with authority and had a stubborn streak that just added to her charm.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband George Shingler, sister Arlene Sanders, and great-granddaughter Amelia Bartley.

Left to cherish her memory, with love, are her sons Ed Shingler of New Cumberland and Robert (Teresa) Shingler of Tennessee, grandchildren Tyler, Robert, Virginia, Justin
(Stacey), Christopher (Caitlyn) and Elizabeth(Connor) Bartley, Great-Grandchildren Addilyn Woods, Declan and Copelan Bartley and Kellin Shingler.

Bonnie’s request for cremation will be honored.

She will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV., 26062.
