Bruce David Mader, 64, of Weirton, passed away on March 4, 2024. Born on November 10, 1959, in Weirton, Bruce was one of three children born to Donald and Ila Anderson Mader.
Bruce graduated from Weir High School in 1978, leaving an indelible mark as he played the tuba in the Weir High School Marching Band, earning the Spirit Award. Following his graduation, he dedicated four years of his life in service to his country as a proud member of the United States Navy from 1979 to 1983.
For 15 to 20 years, Bruce served as a forklift operator at the Weirton Service Center, in half-moon, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication. Later, he spent 6 to 7 years as a craps dealer at Mountaineer Resort.
A man of diverse interests, Bruce found joy in the simplicity of nature and the thrill of fishing. He had a deep appreciation for Banjo and Bluegrass music and was an avid fan of William Shatner and the iconic world of Star Trek.
Bruce is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald and Ila Anderson Mader.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his daughter, Kendra Marte, his sons, Christopher David and Stephen Donald-Eli Mader (Kaycie). He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Deborah (John) Harman and Cheryl Mader, and his three grandchildren, Jonathan Marte, Bruce, and Damien Mader. Additionally, he is remembered by the mother of his children, Rose Shedlock Mader.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Friday followed by a funeral at 7 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV
Rev. Larry Barkley will preside.
Cremation will take place at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home’s on-site crematory 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
The Mader family would like to thank the caring staff of the Weirton Geriatric Center for all the love and care they provided to Bruce while he was a patient.

since we were in Elementary school. Tons of memories that I’ll never forget. From riding dirt bikes to camping out in the woods. The Weir High Band to watching each other’s kids grow up. RIP old friend.
