Carl E “Gig” Kaylor, 84, of Weirton passed away peacefully on Thursday,
May 1, 2025, at WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Weirton on February 25, 1941, Carl was a beloved son of Carl J. Kaylor and Florence (Barone) Kaylor.

A lifelong resident of Weirton, he graduated from Weir High School in the Class of 1959. Following high
school Carl proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964.

Carl built a fulfilling career at Weirton Steel where he dedicated thirty-three years of faithful service as a Roller before his retirement.

A devoted sports enthusiast, Carl cheered for his favorite teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. When not catching a game, he could be found at Williams Country Club where he cherished many
rounds of golf and good company.

Carl also had a love for travel venturing to numerous destinations throughout his life. He had a deep
appreciation for music, particularly the smooth and timeless sounds of the “Rat Pack.”

Carl was deeply engaged in his community. He regularly volunteered at the Serbian Picnic Grounds during their famous Chicken Blasts, where he found joy in giving back.

He was a man of faith, nourishing his spiritual life through the Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his first wife,
Marianne (Shernisky) Kaylor.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Rita, whom he married July 23, 2000, sons Carl A. (Chrissy) Kaylor of Wellsburg and Andrew (Emily Flanagan) Kaylor of Cincinnati, OH, and stepson Michael (Charleen) Trbovich of Festus Missouri. Daughters Andrea (Paul) Stagani of Powell OH, Jaylin Loar of Weirton and stepdaughter Michelle Kuznar of Columbus OH. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jack and Annie Kaylor, and step grandchildren Leah (Matt) Redman, Josh (Danielle)Trbovich, Micheal Pie Trbovich, and Jimmy and Nicholas
Kuznar, and sister Nancy (Rich) Smith. Carl loved his four-legged companions: Fluffy and Cye, respectively known as “Buddy,” both of whom brough him much joy.

Friends can visit Carl’s family on Monday May 5 from 3-6 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street in Weirton where services will be held on Tuesday May 6 at 11 am.

Burial will follow immediately in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
