carl wilkinson, sr.
Carl W. Wilkinson, Sr., 94, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, of Woodsfield, Ohio, formerly of Weirton, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in the Barnesville Hospital. Born November 2, 1915 in Chester, WV, he was a son of the late George and Phona Deem Wilkinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Foreman Wilkinson in 1989, brother George Ray Wilkinson and sister Mildred Barrett. With 39 years of service, Carl retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an electrician in the Electrical Department. He was a member of the Cove Presbyterian Church, Three Score Seniors and the WSX 25-Year Club. Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his son Carl Wilkinson, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL; daughters Carol Figel of Woodsfield, OH, Kay Fitting of Scottsdale, AZ and Judith Hale of Bradenton, FL; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30AM Saturday. Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Cove Presbyterian Church, 3404 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062.

  5. Grand-Dad was the greatest! He used to help me try to catch rabbits in the backyard using a clothes basket. I always enjoyed his stories and his jokes.
