Carmela ''Mary'' Zorbino

Carmela “Mary” Zorbino, 91, of Weirton died September 10, 2002, at Weirton Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1911 in Campofelice, Sicily, daughter of the late Antonio and Guiseppa Licata. Also preceding Mary was her husband, Alfio, who passed away on November 20, 1970; a son Joseph; three brothers, Charles,and his wife Frances, Joseph and Samuel Licata and a sister, Rosalea Licata. Mary was a homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed riding all the rides with her family at Kennywood Park. She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Weirton and St. Paul’s Christian Mothers. She is survived by her son, Frank Zorbino and his wife Carol of Orange, CA; three daughters, Solidea Morton and her husband Jim of Huntsville, Alabama, Josephine Filippelli and her husband, Nick of Concord, NC and Rosemary Gilkey and her husband, Paul of Weirton; and her sister-in-law, Sara Licata of Weirton. Mary has 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Mass with Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church followed by interment at St. Paul Cemetery.
