Carol Ann Wisner, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in her Wellsburg, WV home with her family by her side on Friday, September 8, 2023. Born November 20, 1944, in Wheeling, WV, Carol was a daughter of the late John and Harriet Marie (Bartz) Debnar, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Wisner, Jr.; granddaughter, Dakota L. Jones; brothers, John Debnar, Jr., and Michael Debnar; sisters, Donna Malcomb, and Linda Norman; and her four-legged buddy, Bo.
Carol was a hard and conscientious worker, dedicating over 25 years of service to Weirton Steel. She started out in the Mason Gang as a laborer and later transferred to the Tin Mill where she finished her career after becoming an apprentice Millwright. Her family recalls that one of Carol’s favorite pastimes was watching game shows on television with the volume turned up loud, so she didn’t miss a thing, even if she was sleeping. But most of all, Carol loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren to the moon and back. Some of her happiest moments were those that she shared with them. Carol was a member of the WSX 25-year club and a friend to many. She will be missed, but fondly remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her children, Kimberly L. Miller (JP) of Eastover, SC, and Leonard “Rink” Wisner (Jana) of Wellsburg, WV; grandchildren, Keshia and Chad Wisner, Aaron Miller (Marianna) and Samantha Miller (Rob); great-grandchildren, Alana and Emma Martin, Kaydence and Emmarie Rucker, and Jake and Taylor Miller; and sister, Patricia L. “Patty” Cumblidge.
Carol’s wishes to be cremated will be honored and no services are scheduled at this time. Share tributes with her family at www.grecohertnick.com.
