Carolyn ''Katie'' Dragonir

Carolyn (Katie) Dragonir was born to George and Sarah Baumann on December 27, 1918, in Follansbee, WV. She grew up in Follansbee WV with a brother, George, and two sisters, Ann and Sarah. On October 22, 1934, in Elwood City, PA, she married Nick Dragonir, and together they had four children. Nick worked at Wheeling Steel, and Katie took care of the home. On February 9, 1966 her husband passed away. Katie was a member of the Tri State Church of God, where she once taught the Sunday School Class. She enjoyed reading the Bible. On August 22, 2003 Carolyn “Katie” Dragonir passed away in Weirton, WV. She is survived by her sons, George and Mildred Dragonir of Follansbee, WV; James and Anita Dragonir of Lutz, FL.; her daughters, Patricia Doty of Weirton, WV, and Vera and Leslie Hanson of Newport Richey, FL; a brother George Baumann of Weirton; a sister, Ann Haught of Levitsburg, OH;10 Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday.
