Charles E. Varner,66, of Weirton passed away June 11, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1937 in Weirton, the son of the late Charles F. and Zelma Ross Varner. His wife Barbara Henthorn Varner also preceded him. Charles was owner and operator of the North 12th St. Radiator Shop for ten years. He retired from the Weirton Steel Co. with 30 years service where he worked in the BOP as a crew chief. He served his country in the US Army in Baumholder, Germany with the 7th Army. Charles was a member of the 25 Year Club, American Legion Post 10 and AARP. He is survived by five sons, Charles W. Varner and his wife Susanna, Michael Varner and his wife Julie, and Mark Westling and his wife Traci, all of Weirton, Kevin Westling and his wife Leslie of New Manchester, WV, and John Westling and his wife Melissa of McKees Rocks, Pa. He has two daughters Beverly Garblik and her husband Mike of Dayton, OH and Desah Rae Stitcher and her husband Lance of Stockton, MD. He has two brothers James Varner and his wife Sylvia of Weirton, and Lee Varner of New Cumberland, WV. Charles has 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday June 13, 2003 from 5-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Lewis officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard, V.F.W.Post 2716 Firing Squad and the Tri State Marine Corp. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
