Charles Edward Williamson

Charles Edward Williamson, 76, formerly of Weirton, died June 25, 2002 in Wytheville, Va. He was born February 14, 1926, in Holidays Cove, WV. He was the son of the late William Gilbert and Eva Marie Rymer Williamson. Four brothers, Kenny, Raymond, Jim, and Harold Williamson, also preceded him. Charles retired from National Steel Corporation where he worked as a crane man in the Blast Furnace Department. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-year club, and was a US Navy veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Gwen Haspel (William) of Weirton, Renee’ Williamson of Chester, WV, and two step-sons, Tom Durkin (Donna) and David Durkin, all of Weirton. He has two brothers, Bobby and Donnie Williamson, both of Burgettstown, Pa., four sisters, Betty Williamson, Helen Smith both of Burgettstown, Pa., Avis Johnson of Baltimore, Md, and Aileen Wilson of Woodbridge, Va. He has six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2002, at 11:00AM.
