Charles Lucas
June 1, 1927 ~ May 12, 2006
Charles Lucas, 78, of Weirton, passed away Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Weirton Geriatric Center after a brief stay for rehabilitation. Born June 1, 1927 in Allison, PA, he was the son of the late John and Anna Yurachko Lucas. Charles was also preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Michael Lucas and sisters Mary Sever, Helene Price, Pauline Holden, Julia Kane, Anne Wojciak and Emma Slusarek.
In 1986, with 29 years of service, Charles retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a pipe insulator. He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 10 and the WSX 25-Year Club. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Charles’ survivors include his wife of 44 years, Shirley Ann Dudzak Lucas; son Charles B. Lucas; daughter Terri Ann Joy and her husband James all of Weirton and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Final blessing will be held Monday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 AM at St Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Ed Lucas officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.

We will always remember Chuck for his wonderful smile!! He was a very special man, and we will miss him. Our grandsons referred to him as “Mr. Chuck.” Our love and prayers are with Shirley, Chuckie, Terri and Jim. Don and Betty Allen.
