Christopher John Crago, 54, of Weirton, WV, passed away on October 10, 2024.

Born on February 21, 1970, in Weirton, WV, Chris was the youngest of six children born to Donald W. and Irene J. Gromek Crago.

A graduate of Weirton Madonna High School, Chris went on to further his education at West Liberty State College after working a summer at Weirton Steel. During college, Chris met the love of his life, Tara Anne Santorino. On December 18, 1992, Chris and Tara were married and were ultimately blessed with three children.

A man of many talents, Christopher was highly intelligent and could fix anything with his hands. He enjoyed working in construction and was passionate about every project he set his mind to. He expressed his love for life through music, as a gifted guitarist, and through poetry, capturing the beauty of the world in words. His connection with nature was profound, often found outdoors observing the details many overlook. In addition, he had a remarkable appreciation for the little things in life. A fantastic chef, Chris will be remembered as a sensitive soul, always thoughtful and caring toward others.

His faith was strong, and he was at peace, knowing he was right with God.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Crago on December 24, 1992.

In addition to his mother, Irene, Chris will also be remembered with love by his wife, Tara Anne Satornino Crago; his children, Ryan (Ash) Crago of Bulger, PA, Abby Crago of Fort Collins, CO, and Will Crago of Weirton, WV.; his brothers, Don Crago of Erie, PA, Timothy (Tammy) Crago of York, SC; his sisters, Susan “Sue” (Jill) Crago of Florence, MA, Kathryn “Kathy” (Rodney) Elliott of Morgantown, WV, and Renee (Jim) Jobes of Parkersburg, WV.

Friends and family are invited to honor Chris’s life at a visitation at Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton, WV, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM.

  1. Candle Selection 5My heart os broken hearing of this. Most of the fonderst memories i have grom MHS involved Chris. Always appreciated others and brought a creative look to any situation. R.I.P. Chris.

  2. Candle Selection 4My heart is heavy hearing of Chirs’ passing. I have such fond memories of him. My favorite is senior prom. RIP Chris.

  3. Dear Irene and family, I am so sorry over your loss of Chris. He was such a kind person and always a joy. Chris was always willing to lend a hand with a smile. Many wonderful memories from the years at Sacred Heart. He was a blessing.

  4. Tara, I’m sorry for the pain that you, your children and Chris’ family are going through with Chris’ passing. In the 6th gr, he and I competed against other schools in reciting Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address.” We tied 1st place. There wasn’t resentment but smiles and laughter. Throughout the years, it was a pleasure to run into Chris/both of you. He always spoke with a smile, (lotsa laughter), kindness and respect—Always. May the good man and his good soul rest peacefully.

  5. Candle Selection 8Although it’s been too long since I’ve seen my brother in law I have many great memories and am just so sorry we couldn’t be there😞🙏🏻🌹We will miss you Chris!

  6. To my old friends, the Crago family, I’m sorry to learn of your loss. Although it’s been a long time since I’ve seen my friend an old classmate from elementary school and high school Chris, I am saddened to learn of his passing. We were great buddies and loved playing hoops with him and laughing with all the shenanigans school age guys take part in. My condolences
