Duilio P. "Dan" Grossi, 82, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born March 6, 1927 in Donora, PA, Dan was a son of the late Valentino and Maria Posato Grossi. He was also preceded in death by his brother Chester P. Grossi on February 24, 2008. With 34 years of service, Dan retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an electrician. He also served as the Clerk of Circuit Court for Hancock County for 26 years and was the owner and operator of the A & W Root Beer Stand in Weirton for ten years. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Dan was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, I.S.D.A., Weirtonian Lodge, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, Toastmasters Club and a founding member of the Brotherhood of the Grape. Dan is survived by his wife Dolores McGaughey Grossi of Weirton, whom he married November 10, 1951; two sons, Dan Grossi of Weirton, WV, Rich and Maria Grossi of Paris, PA; four daughters, Maria and David Robertson of Presto, PA, Mary Ann and Doug Wells, Kathleen Grossi, Dana and Ken Bailey all of Weirton; a brother, John T. Grossi of Weirton; two sisters, Lena Schiavone of Indianapolis, IN and Louise Enrietti of Weirton; 7 grandchildren, Dante and Ryann Grossi, Danielle Montelione, Patrick Robertson, Brennan and Brittany Bailey, and Kayla Wells; great-grandson Ivan Taylor and great-granddaughter Adrianna Grossi. Friends will be received 3 to 8 PM Thursday, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00AM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Reverend Pete A. Giannamore will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton, with military services conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Avenue, Weirton, WV 26062.

You missed little aiden(brennans son)being born. You would’ve loved him. I miss you asking before we left to go somewhere if we were “ready to rumble” or your homemade spaghetti.
