I know that you’re up there pounding away a few shots and beers with your Dad and Uncle Alex Zdinak….and probably Baba, Zedo, Uncle Mike, Aunt Anne, Uncle Bill, Uncle Andy, Uncle John, Uncle Paul and so on. I remember you growning up and when my brother Alex and I traded off babysitting You, Kathy, JoJo and Bobby, when your Mom and my Mom went to play bingo. It was fun and a good job. We’re going to miss you and give you our prayers and love. Your Cousin Michael
It was with great sadness that our family learned of your passing. Many years ago, I held you in my arms in St. Mary’s church as your Godmother. You and your family were very special to me and my mother and father, Mike and Anne. May God bless you with eternal rest and peace. Love, Pat and Max Ferry

Dear Aunt Katie, Kathy Jo, Bobby, and Jo, I am so sorry about Danny. Everytime I came over you would tell me about how he helped with the decorations, or repaired something in the house. You always couldn’t wait for his visits. Danny cared for all of you. I truly will remember his generous laugh, ability to laugh at life, and to also give to others. I know all of us will miss him, but like others have said, “He’s probably having a wonderful time up in heaven partying with the Zdinak and Mehalik clans!” I’m sorry that I can’t be in town for you now, but my prayers are with all of you. Please give my love and hug your mom for me! Love and God Bless! Mickey

Dearest Aunt Katy, Kathy Jo, Jo-Jo and Bobby, We were shocked to learn of Danny’s unexpected death. And, you know the first thing I thought of? It was the beautiful Easter Basket cover he made so many years ago for all of you with the lovely image of the Risen Christ! Growing up I always could not wait to see the eggs “Pisanki” that he would decorate or the way he decorated for Christmas. Our faith will keep us strong and I am sure that Uncle Joe is happy to have Danny with him as they look at the beautiful face of our Lord, up close and personal! With all our love and prayers, Stas` & Rafael PS: So sorry we can’t be with you in person at this time.

Funeral Repast Tribute & Thank You Spoken by Kathy Jo Mehalik March, 1, 2010 I would like to thank everyone for coming and making this a special day for our family. Son and brother to us. My brother Danny loved his family and liked to always have fun with us. And he was always being silly with my brothers and I. He would pick on me all the time. Danny served as an alter boy at St. Marys and was a Boy Scout. He used to enjoy putting up the lights for Christmas and decorating our house with us. He also made beautiful Easter Eggs at Easter time. He also loved playing his guitar and to ski. Danny was very proud of me when I took over the house, taking care of our Mom and the Boys. He knew they were in very good hands. How Danny got his nickname? First it was Bug, then Ski Bug, cause he liked to ski, then later it was changed to Bug Head, because of his Big Head. Now I would like to thank the following people. Aunt Theresa and Uncle Alex for being here with us, and standing by mom and us. Cousins: Ed and Cecilia, Jane and Kevin, for helping us make all the arrangements. I would not know what to do without them. Also I would like to thank Cousins Mike and Dee, for making the beautiful picture (collage) of Danny to hang on our wall. And Cousins George, Glenda, and Yvonne for all of their help. We Love You! I also want to thank all the people that are so kind and thoughtful at this time of Our Loss, and the for all the people that brought food, cakes, pies, and goodies. It was very nice of you. I would like to thank Father Ed for the Special Prayer and the Services, George Lacik for the singing, and Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home for helping with the arrangements. Danny, We will miss you so much, We will never forget You, You will be in our hearts forever! We will take good care of Mom for you. Danny, you take care of Dad up there, and the rest of the Family. Hopefully, one day we will all be together, and like the old days, the parties will start all over again. Rest In Peace Son and Our Loving Brother. We will miss you. Youll be forever in our Hearts. Dear Aunt Katie, Kathy Jo, Jo-Jo, and Bobby I was always remember Danny as my “Kissing cousin from West Virginia”! Remember in St Mary’s Passion Play, Danny played the part of Judas and had to kiss his cousin, Michael Sabol, who played Jesus Christ. We have lots of fun together practicing and performing the passion play. Right now, Danny must be embracing the true Jesus Christ with hugs and kisses. “Be prepared” was the Boy’s Scout motto Danny would say as a boy scout. I know that with his passing, Danny has prepared the way to heaven for the rest of the family. So keep the gate open for us to come and get everything ready for the big family gathering. And if by chance I see a shooting star, I will know it was Danny setting off another firework display. As I prepare my Easter eggs, I will always remember Danny’s pisanki eggs. What a treasured keepsake for Danny to leave his family. Danny, I remember coming to your Halloween birthday party…some of those crazy costumes you would wear were the hit of the party! Every time I come to the house, I still glance up in your yard to see if you are getting the bonfire ready and I look around for you, as you would sneak up behind us with a firecracker. Thanks for being a “kissing cousin”! I will keep you and the family in prayers and will light a candle for you. I will know that this little candle will shine on… in our hearts and memories. Your cousin, Yvonne
Dear Aunt Katie, Kathy, Bobby and Jo-Jo, I have always associated Danny with music. I remember visiting Weirton in 1969. We were at Aunt Katie’s house and Danny had a 45 RPM record player and we played the song “In the year 2525” over and over again for hours. To this day, whenever I hear that song I still think of Danny.
Aunt Katie, Kathy, Bobby & Jo-Jo, We are sorry to hear about Danny. I remember how he always brought joy to your house during the holidays. He will be missed. We apologize we couldn’t make it down to Weirton for the services, but you ALL our in our thoughts & prayers. Love you, Joanne, Doug, Kyle, Levi, Grady, Quinn & Isaac
