Daniel W. Long, 55, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born March 23, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, he was the son of Wanda Ferguson Long of Weirton and the late Francis Colbert Long.
With 32 years of service, he retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a craneman. He was currently employed at Starvaggi Industries. He attended St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and was a member of the WSX 25-Year Club and Weirton Moose Lodge #688.
In addition to his mother, Daniel is survived by his wife Carla Wade Long of Weirton, children Lance Alan and Tiffany Ann; brother Timothy Long of Alexandria, VA, sister Laura Spickard of Phoenix, AZ; nephews Brad and Daniel Spickard and great nieces Angelina, Gabriella and Jocelyn Spickard.
A 10:30am Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, November 17, 2007 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hancock County Unit, Post Office Box 2166, Weirton, WV 26062.
