David Eugene Keenan, 57, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at his home. Born December 13, 1955 in Weirton, he was the son of the late Howard and Nellie M. Bell Keenan. For the last 41 years, David worked for Gas For Less, Inc. at the bottom of Cove Hill Road in Weirton. He was a soldier in the Weirton Salvation Army. David was an Eagle Scout and former Assistant Scout Master for Troop 135. He was a proud member of the NRA. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, humor and his generous ways. He dedicated his life to helping others. He is survived by his brothers Paul (Dawn) Keenan of Follansbee, WV, Joseph (Dinina) Keenan of Weirton and Charles (Karen) Keenan of Hendersonville, TN, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday 6-8PM and Monday from 10 until the 11AM funeral services at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Teresa McGowan will preside. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.

  9. I am ashamed to say that I never knew David’s name but he pumped gas in my car for many years. He always had a smile & something nice to say. He loved to tease. I worried about him when he had lost a good amount of weight. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends & many gas customers in Weirton.

  10. Our deepest sympathy go out to Dave’s family. Dave will be missed by myself,Chris and especially our Mom. Dave would always have a smile on his face and a kind word for all. Getting gas at the bottom of Cove road will NEVER be the same. We loved dropping his care packages off to him, which he always looked forward too.   17. Back in our salad dsys, Dave and I were in Boy Scouts together. I have lived out of Weirton for over 30 years now, but whenever I came back to town, I would always get gas at the bottom of Cove Road so I could spend a few minutes talking with him.
