David H. Williams, M.D.

David H. Williams, M.D., 77, of Weirton, died August 16, 2001, at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1924, in Girard, OH, a son of the late Albert and Nell Wright Williams. Dr. Williams was a retired Director of Radiology at the Weirton Medical Center from 1962 to 1985. He was also a Clinical Professor of Radiology at West Virginia University School of Medicine from 1970 to 1985. He received his B.S. from West Virginia University in 1947 and his M.D. from the Cornell University Medical College in 1949. Dr. Williams served his Internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH from 1949 to 1950 and his Residency in Radiology from the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville from 1958-1961. Dr. Williams was a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, a fellow of American College of Radiology, a member of the Radiologic Society of North America, a member of the American Medical Association, and a member of Cove United Presbyterian Church. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army, serving as a physician in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Lucy E. Bernard Williams, whom he married June 26, 1948; five daughters, Mrs. Gary (Martha) Worby of Westfield, IL, Mrs. William (Nancy) Wise of Homer, AK, Mrs. Ronald (Susan) Polgar of Elkins, WV, Mrs. Luis (Marjorie) Ortega of Surrey, England, and Mrs. Ramses (Karen) Zaytoun of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Douglas L. Williams of Bolivar, MO; and nine grandchildren. Private services will be held. Entombment will be at the Pineview Memorial Park, Warren, OH. Arrangements are being handled by Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
