  4. Dave was an awesome brother and a really great guy. He was good at solving problems and was always there to help anyone at anytime. He taught me that life isn’t always black and white and that many accomplishments lie within the gray area. He was a pillar of strength in our family that could be leaned upon when things got tough. Your attitude and charm will be forever missed.

  5. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Cottrill Family. Dave, you will be missed. – Your Friends at Custom Paint & Panel

  6. To my family in Weirton so saddened to hear of David’s passing. I will always have fond memories of him and all the fun we used to have back in the summers when I would stay with Aunt Nadine and Uncle Pooch’s. I would cry when I had to go home. So to all of you I send my love during this difficut time. So so sorry ! Diana

  7. Dave was a great man. He was like a father figure to me since I was a teenager. Through the good times and bad..he was always there to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. He was there for me and my kids, when no one else was. My kids, Alyssa and Colton McAdams called him “Pappy Dave!” He will be missed by many…as he was loved by many. Dave is my sons, GRANDFATHER!! When times got rough, I knew I could always depend on him being there. Imagining him not being a part of me and my kids’ lives, is unbarable. We will keep him alive in our heart…with so many wonderful memories!!! And he will live thru my son, I will be reminded of him and think of him everyday with just a single glance at my son. I WILL MISS DAVE!!!!

  8. Saying I am sorry is not enough. Feeling your pain is better. I saw David alot at my office, though not rescently. I did not know he was sick. Our children knew eachother. He was always so pleasant to to me. He talked alot about his family..Isn’t that what life is about? He also knew my son Jeremy whom we have lost also. Please take care and count your blessings even though you will always grieve.. Judy Ash

  9. My Pappy Dave was the best pap I ever had. Every time I wen’t to his shop he gave me ten dollars so I can get somthing I wanted. I remember when he let me work with him at his shop. That was fun. Every time I went to see him at his house I smelt his cigars. He always let me get candy. He would do any thing for me. I also remember when I went to his shop he taught me how to sand a car. When I was little I took off my diaper to get in the plastic pool with the dog Bruno.I would eat raw green beans out of his garden. He thought the world of me.He always called me “little man”. He always told me to watch him at the shop so I can have my own shop some day and know how to work on cars. He helped pay for my sports since I was five years old. He was the nicest man you would ever want to meet. I will always love you and I will never forget the way you loved me. I will miss you forever Pappy.

  10. I’m extremely sad that Pappy Dave has passed. He was a very kind and loving person. When someone needed something, Pappy Dave always made sure they had it. He put everyone before himself, and always seemed to have a smile on his face. He will forever be loved and missed. I LOVE YOU PAPPY DAVE!
